I sort of see where their going with the Back Button thing, but what I think they've done is record everymove backwards as a new step on the stack should you go fowards again. This could be handy, as how many times have you gone back then branched off in another direction only to decide you want to be where you were before but it's no longer one click away? If I'm right with the way I understand this it is going to create a huge stack which could make finding a page again even more difficult. What I would find more useful is a foward button that would highlight every branch you've taken off of a page and let you decide which one to follow.
