Buy the guardian today, just for the letters section. There's a brilliant letter about F.W.Gump and his general crappy understanding of the English language*. Specificaly a comment about "showed thier cards" and it being a "Texas expression". Unfortunately it's not online, but I think it's worth 55p, just today**.


*Yes I know I don't have a hefty grip on it myself, but I'm not a leader of a super power, I don't have teams of people writing my speeches (if i did though I'd be able to read the damn things from an auto-cue properly), and, even though I've never been to texas let alone being born and raised there, I know it's "TEXAN expression" not "Texas expression"
