Yep, sounds good indeed Sean. Let me (and the rest of the gusset blog reading world) know what tracks are picked. What wrong with Donna Air, Popcorn? I mentioned this to someone in work and the response I got was, "Waaughhh, Donna Air! Wow, she looks really, really dirty! I definitely would...", and so on. I can't say I agree with such horrendously sexist rambling and dribbling, but it's obviously a matter of taste.
And finally, more than a week of working my ass off after the gig, here is how it went: There was hardly anyone there when I played, the place filled up slowly over the evening. (Sean was ill so that was the first gig I played on my own!) The set was alright, featured some new material as always. Seemed to interest the few people who did see it, and I did get two people I don't know come up to me afterwards and say "isn't there normally two of you?"! Who are these mysterious gusset stalkers?
Duran Duran Duran played a blinding set (if you're into noise), and I got a CD from him which is definitely worth a listen. DJ Ripley played a good set, lots of old school jungle, including a great jungle mix of I Wanna be Like You from The Jungle Book =] Knifehandchop was pretty good, although perhaps a little slow in the middle, but a good show and a great ending. Then Parasite and Ripley finished off with a bit off a DJ battle. Overall of good night, and the crowd were really into it. I did take some photos I planned to post here, but due to a technical cock up on my part that won't be happening, sorry.
I met D'Kat (of Bleeding to Death at the Local Police Station fame). He liked our stuff, and kept asking how I managed to generate it all live (which I didn't). He also asked if we'd be up for doing some sort of collaboration. We exchanged contact details, we'll see what happens, he probably won't even remember! Watch this space.
We went to Slim and Emma's wedding on Saturday, on the Glass Boat. That was a great day, really nice wedding, they both looked great, and looked really happy. I also caught up with a load of old colleges from my time at BT, had a nice trip up the feeder in a ferry, in glorious weather, and ate some great food. I feel bad that the gift we bought them won't even cover the cost of the food we ate; I'll have to do/get something else for them. They're off to the states today, have a great Honeymoon both of you, if you read this before you go (unlikely).
I bought an over priced Glastonbury ticket from eBay yesterday. I missed getting a ticket on the first day last week due to a business trip and I'm considering claiming the extra expense on my expenses, don't fancy my chances though! I was talking to Mike Denner, who runs the cinema field, this morning and he thinks Michael Eavis is going to get the addresses of everyone who sold a ticket on eBay and not send the tickets out to any of those addresses. Now, I'm not sure where he stands legally on that? Surely one all of the tickets are sold it becomes a free market? Can eBay just give out all of those addresses without compromising there users privacy? Eavis defiantly cant get that information without eBay's cooperation, and surly if they were going to cooperate with him they would just close the auctions down? Oh well, let just wait and see. But I have to say, if all the people who have risked spending a small fortune on a ticket from eBay lose out because of Eavis, he is going to be one damn unpopular man!
