I've had to spend the day at the M$ 2003Server roadshow (Oh, joy of joys). I'm not going to get all techy here but I would like to quote one or two of the speakers:
First up was Nevil (or Norman, depending on who was introducing him): "... I'm here because I'm a Win 2000 admin expert....." Five minutes later when things start to go a bit pear shaped: ".. bugger. We'll I'm not touching THAT, it's gone wrong." (Someone shouted from the audience what was wrong, he still failed to fix it. Can you feel the confidence rising? No? Didn't think so) He also instisted on calling a double forward slash a "whack, whack" because he didn't know what else to call them.
Next was Ian: (talking on security) Spent almost three hours slagging off M$, quality, worth the trip for him alone.
Finaly there was some Indian bloke, who's name I can't remember, and he kept slipping into a German accent: ".. I'm the resident upgrade and migration expert.." Five minutes later when things start to go a bit pear shaped: ".. perhaps I should reboot" After the upgrade he was doing rebooted, he'd forgoten the admin password, rendering the next three demonstrations, and the migration, usless.
I thouroghly comend M$, they've obviously decieded that the best way of stopping people slagging them of and saying thier employees don't know jack, is to employ people to do a much better job of it themselves. Well done. ( ^_^)//
