I actually went through some of the woofle google links*, and there are a few references to the "woofle" of an engine - all V8s mind.
Why don't V12s woofle?

* never again, there was some site about some white trash called Kimberly, and her rantings about "going to the mall is cool" and how "Joshh is dreeeaaammmy" *shudder*
