Gig Review: The Keith Barrett Show, Bristol Hippodrome, 17.06.05

Rob Brydon's Keith Barrett character is unlikely to ever make any comedy as perfect again as he did with his Marion and Jeff monologues. This attempt at putting together a live "talk" about relationships is interesting and highly amusing, but in places drags. It felt as if it was largely improvised, relying heavily on audience participation, although huge sections would obviously be used every night. The most enjoyable bits are when he sticks to the script during his slide presentation, although I remember seeing some of that material before (Comic Relief?) All good fun, although probably variable from night to night.
