Farewell Toxic Dancehall

Last Saturday's Toxic Dancehall was apparently the last. The following message from the TD website:

"It is with great sadness in our hearts we announce that Toxic Dancehall on Saturday 3 December 2005 was our final event ever. Due to various factors, not least the geographic dispersal of members of the Toxic family, we decided to make the eleventh event our last. We are deeply indebted to all the rigs, artists, DJs, VJs and ravers who attended over the past two-and-a-half years and made it what it was.

"On the bright side, you can brace yourselves for a slew of events - spawned from the ashes of Toxic - coming your way very soon. Clean Cut, Language, Dissident & Prank will be starting a new night at the Black Swan in June/July 2006, and Death$ucker and Anakissed will be running events at an (as yet) undisclosed location, to begin in January/February 2006. The Toxic Dancehall website will remain online as an archive and will also display flyers for related future events.

R.I.P.

The night went out in style, I'm glad to say. Even though I couldn't get there until way past midnight I still had a great evening and heard loads of great music. I was upset to have missed Monkey Steak, and unfortunately I also missed Vex'd, but Mathhead, Drop The Lime, and Bong Ra (with a bass! that must be a first as well as a last at Toxic) were all fantastic.
