MP3 Friday: Curtis Roads
A recent conversation about Curtis Roads' (edited) brilliant Computer Music Tutorial inspired me to revisit my well thumbed copy. You can always tell how good a reference book is by the number of bookmarks sticking out of it.

Keith (Hrvatski) Fullerton-Whitman commented in the above tread: "man... i stood right next to curtis in amsterdam about 2 weeks ago as he premiered a new audio/video work @ the paradiso in amsterdam - really mind blowing! whereas i knew him prior as a source of useful algorithms, i now see him as a full-blown composer. you should really check out his music!"
This reminded me that I'd read a lot about Roads' music without ever tracking it down to listen to, so I'm putting that right now.
Roads' website is here and he has a collection of MP3s and MOVs available here.
He has also recently put out a CD/DVD package called Point Line Cloud that you can pick up at Boomkat. His granular synthesis book Microsound is reviewed by Sound on Sound here and some Amazon links provided below.
