Oh yeah, and I saw a white van with some wonderfully Bristolian graffiti in the dirt this morning: “GIVE I A WASh!” (sic)

I've been reading William Gibson’s Blog since Grom blogged it on its first day. (Thanks Grom!) The piece Gibson wrote today about pirate material had a link to a fascinating article by Tim O'Reilly of O'Reilly publishing about digital piracy. It is a brilliantly fresh way to look at the phenomenon (after listening to the music and film industries harp on about how it will bankrupt them if nothing is done about it). Read it here.

I like the calendar Channon. Number 10 in particular! It reminded me, we were driving up the M5 on New Years Day and Amanda drew my attention to the red Toyota Corolla that was passing us... It had one of those stupid Christmas hats (you know, the ones that people wear to Christmas parties or to work on Christmas Eve or whatever then throw away I guess) on the head rest of EACH seat! As we starred in amazement and discussed how ridiculously excited some people, (ADULTS!), get about Christmas we noticed the registration... it was “25 DEC”!!! What possesses these people???
Did I tell you that we woke up at Amanda’s parents new house in Weston-Super-Mare on New Years Day, (after celebrating New Year at her brother’s (Mark’s) house round the corner), to find their garage and garden totally flooded? We spent most of the day moving water around, although only getting it out of the flooded areas slight faster than it was getting in. In the end I had to climb over a fence into a flooded ditch and create an impromptu damn of clayey mud and sticks, which seemed to solve the problem. I think I am now an honorary Beaver (the large tooth and flat tailed variety, not the child worrying variety). Expect humours photos soon.

Another day, another Gusset tune.
Try this little baby, called Oops! Don't Look Again.
(Ok, I am well aware that it's not really a new tune and that the levels are all over the shop, but I did remove all the bits featuring the wurzel's and extended the running time without just looping the same old bits that were there before, end of rant).
Gig on Friday, whole new set, no pressure....where did i leave my chainsaw?!!?!?!?!!
The schnozberries taste like schnozberries.

Thinking more about this, yes it's a nice idea, but what does it do that you can't already with back & history? Or what does it simplify?Mr Cockburn, you need to K.I.S.S.

I sort of see where their going with the Back Button thing, but what I think they've done is record everymove backwards as a new step on the stack should you go fowards again. This could be handy, as how many times have you gone back then branched off in another direction only to decide you want to be where you were before but it's no longer one click away? If I'm right with the way I understand this it is going to create a huge stack which could make finding a page again even more difficult. What I would find more useful is a foward button that would highlight every branch you've taken off of a page and let you decide which one to follow.

Nice work Sean. I'll download the new version of FN when I get home. I have some ideas for a new tune, I might get to work on it tonight, if not tomorrow. Channon, have you listened to these? Any comments?

Well, I didn't go off to bed and now the Gusset site has been improved, with the aid of blogger.
I don't feel tired so I'll carry on with the Gigs page as well.

Never let it be said, that Gusset aren't motivated when we've got a gig looming, within a mere five hours of it's previous posting, ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to present the finished, longer version of Fructose Nightmares for your aural pleasure. As a really sad muso type, I would like to point out that it is so named as it is in the same key as Sweet Dreams by The Eurythmics.
Well, I'm off to bed now, insomnia rules!

The latest offering from the world's greatest "glitch-hop duo" (that's Gusset, if you are one of the few people in the world who don't know that) is Fructose Nightmares, a chilled piece of scare-mongering that is the perfect soundtrack for the usual sunday afternoon puppy dissections.

D0 j00 w4|\|t 2 b 4 1337 h4x0r?I used to try and do the cyberarmy challenges, which were OK but if you were stuck on one level that was it you got no further. Yesterday I happened accross Hackquest and boy does it beat CA into a cocked hat with a shitty stick. There's about 40~50 challenges that can be tackled in any order. There's web stuff, crpyto&stegno, reversengineering, logic puzzles, generally a good and wide range of stuff. Entertaining and fun to find out what you know :) If you do happen to learn anything from doing these challenges thenyou should really never use that knowlage for nefarious deeds, it's just not cricket
