Nice idea Slim, but I would suggest that to speed up the process you move to Germany. They've switched off their analogue TV already, "cus there were only 80 thousand people still watching it"!!!
Stumbled across this in today's Guardian's Political Blog recommendations: "shamedagain.blogspot.com/ A fantastic e-idea, let down by the perennial blogging problems of poor updating and archiving. But what a smart concept - a simple, comment-free resource of all those "Britain has Europe's largest/poorest/longest/worst/least ..." stories that are the staple of the Sunday broadsheet market. And as our low-tax, low-spend, private wealth, public squalor country continues to grind to a halt, this could (with more work) become a very useful one-stop shop for argument-clinching facts and figures."

I've got this plan to get free Broadband. A plan that's just crazy enough to work. Hear me out.
My theory is that, if I stay on the Narrowband, as more and more people vacate the Narrowband to jump on the Broadband-wagon (see what I did there?), I'll have more space to use on my precious Narrowband. In about a year or two I'll be the only one left on it and it'll run like a dream. When this happens, my ISP will twig that I'm the only one using Narrowband and they'll give me a call.
"Hello Mr.Noble" he'll say "We'd like to close the Narrowband."
"You can't" I'll reply "I'm still using it. I pay for that, pal."
I'll argue that I have a contract with them which I expect them to honour. He'll go off to have a word with his supervisor and get back to me.
"Hello again, Mr. Noble, sorry to put you on hold. How about we move you over to Broadband but at your current monthly fee? That way we can close the Narrowband."
"Ooh, I don't know. That Narrowband runs pretty fast for me right now."
"Ok, Mr.Noble - how about we move you over for free. We'll waive your monthly fee. How would that be?"
"Sweet."
Your thoughts?

Yeah, I saw that. It's not really clear exactly what is onboard the fly. How much is it actually doing? It isn't actually serving pages is it? The potato one was. That was far more impressive, this is just some piece of installation art crap.
I think some one should install a working web server in a slightly larger insect, say, on the back of a Dung Beetle. Then you would have room for WiFi and a tiny web cam. It could wonder around going about its business, whatever Dung Beetles actually do with all that dung, unaware (except that it's slightly more difficult to manoeuvre) that its hosting dungbeetlecam.com as it goes.
I saw Power Rangers Wild Force over the weekend. It's amazing how little the whole franchise has changed since I was already far too old to be watching it. Same plot, same sets, same monsters, same effects, new actors. And they even have a weird elf queen wise woman of the forest type character in it now (like the one you got so excited about when we saw the film, Channon).
I'll never forget the look on the face of that poor woman in the Odeon box office. Channon (in loud projecting voice): "Three ADULTS for Mighty Morphing Power Rangers: The Movie please!" I thought she was going to wet herself.

Don't know if anyone saw the potato powered web server that was about a few months ago. Now the latest odd-ball webserver project is embedded within a dead fly. I kid you not.

Another sunday evening and more superhero news!
Only today was "Spider-Man" spotted doing an ill-advised Tommy Cooper impression:-

As if that wasn't enough...
our web-slinging friend decided to continue to entertain the crowds with his mortifyingly awful skills at impressions...
he makes rory bremner and alistair macgowan look good...
yes, he did Brian May...
