For those who care there are official launch nights for the new Placebo album, Sleeping with Ghosts, across the country this weekend. Bristol Academy tonight, Leeds Cockpit tomorrow, see Placebo World for more info. The album is out on the 24th March.

Hello all!
We got back from Germany yesterday, so now I can get back to the Blog.
We had a great time by the way, did loads of touristy stuff in and around Munich, visited a bunch of Mad King Ludwig II's castles etc. The funniest thing that happened was on the tour of one of these castles, we were in "the hall of mirrors", basically a large rooms with large mirrors on every wall, and one particularly stupid old American woman asks the guide, "so what's behind the mirrors, how do they make it look like it goes on forever?" !!!!!!!!!!!
The guide tried to explain that there was nothing behind the mirror and she was seeing a reflection of the opposite mirror reflecting the first mirror again ad infinitum. She still didn't understand and he tried explaining that you can see this effect in other places, on escalators or in hotel lobbies to make them look bigger for instance. "?" He then made the mistake of saying you could even do it in your own home with two mirrors. "What? How would you do that? How big would the mirrors have to be to make it look like it goes on forever? Where would I have to put them?" Amanda had to physically restrain me at this point....
Other than that we had a good time.

Bless the internet, where anyone with even the slightest urge to know how many people do something can create an online survey. This one has shocked me with the one result showing me that more people hang the bog roll the wrong way, off the back, than the clearly better (unless your bogroll holder also acts as a remote control rest) off the front.

I doubt anyone will do anything useful with the results, but it'll kill a few minutes of work, and it's worth doing just to see the amount of people who claim to NEVER wash thier hands after curling one out.

Arg! must blog something to get my last comment off the top of the screen.

Yet another attempt to make P2P sharing legit, honest thief lets you trade files for your spare CPU cycles (more about it here, as that link's been slashdotted). Good idea in principle, but if you're going to do that kind of thing I really think you should try and find a cure for cancer or look for little green men.
