I'd have thought Dan would have made his first post from an iLoo by now.

Ardour, the "multichannel hard disk recorder (HDR) and digital audio workstation (DAW). ", has gone beta. I've read a couple of good things about it so it might be worth keeping an eye on.

Out of Office:
Right, I'm off to Glastonbury. Behave yourselves while I'm away. I'll be back on Tuesday to taunt you all about how great it was (hopefully).

Lomographic Society International have a great web site, with some amazing picture galleries of shots from the various types of Lomo camera. As they put it "you are just about to discover the most interactiv, vivid, blurred and crazy face of photography worldwide" The SuperSampler looks particularly good, I think I'll have to start saving my pennies for one of those.

If you haven't used MultiMap's new map over lay facility you should, its kina fun in a really sad sort of way. Go to a map you want to see, click on Aerial Photo, and then click on Overlay Map. You'll see an aerial photo with a floating square of OS map that moves around over the photo.

General Advice:
I started reading someone's Live Journal awhile ago. As a public service announcement I feel I have to warn you how fucking depressing it is. I have now deleted the link from my favourites and intend never to get sucked into it again. I can't stand all of the whining about personal problems and the difficulty of finding real-world friends (this person even considered making flyers with their email address on and leaving them around interesting places). And all the people who publish these things seem to read each others journals and make lots of comments about what beautiful people they are with their amazing love for their friends and sickening stuff like that. Pouring your heart out online, that is to say, in public, is not healthy. I have met in real life people I first met online and made friends, well, contacts shall we say. To an extent my online persona is just a marking tool, a way to meet people with similar musical interests who I can chat to about music, exchange CDs, arrange gigs etc. I don't go into something like that expecting to meet soul mates. Friendship is something that builds over time without you even realising it, you can't make it happen by telling the world how damaged you are. If you see me starting to sound like I'm doing that here please shoot me down. (I'll probably reread this in a week's time and think I'm doing it now)

Being into codes and cyphers, for some time I've wanted to know more about the Incas knot writing.
New research shows that it's just 7-bit binary. Devised long before the first computer.
