Re: Freak Chicken Story. Quote: "I'm the type of person who picks the chickens up on the side of the road," said Julie Butler, Lee's mother. "I call them 'Perdue Refugees.' " Well, if that’s how you want to justify it, you go ahead, but we all know you’re just a sick chicken pimp, lady.

I’ve been browsing Nettavisen again. There’s a lot of links there I thought were best left uninvestigated, so have a poke around yourself if these take your fancy: Scientists explain the burning bushes in the Bible, Shy booklovers steal S&M classic, Now its salmon sausages, Goat's cheese caused security trouble.

I was in Pizza Hut last night. I overheard the young mother at the next table tell one of her kids to, "ea' all yer pizza or ya won' ge' any ice cream." Looking at the pizza, I suspect the ice cream might have actually been better for him.

Roo story: "Mr Crouch suffered a badly sprained hand, scratches and bruising. "It was killed or be killed," Mr Crouch told the Bundaberg News-Mail." - Fuckin' drama queen.
Wireframe puppet man thing – can you make him mosh?
Another thought that should have gone in that Toxic Dancehall review: How do you tell someone politely that the coke round their nose is glowing in the UV? I mean, it’s not like pointing out they have some mayonnaise on their upper lip is it? Or a wadge of broccoli in their teeth? (Subtle Duckman reference there cartoon fans) I decide to let the matter go, what would you have done?

Axe death roo.

or, to put it another way
"The animal might have just been looking for something to eat because they trust humans"

Another gig review: Toxic Dancehall, The Black Swan, Bristol, Sat 12.7.03
This gig was great. Brilliant set by D’Kat, who as far as I’m aware hasn’t played live before, he was so worried about his PC surviving it he had a backup CD of a rehearsal set just in case. Fortunately. he didn’t need it, and I have it now =] (Look out for a D’Kat/Gusset collaboration soon!) Ripley’s DJ set was as great as ever, some nice jungle party tunes, ending with that jungle mix of the jungle book thing which is such a great party track. Parasites live set was phenomenal, killer bass, pounding drums, and chopped up noises. It just got faster and faster. Amazing stuff. Anarchic Hardrive made a welcome return to Bristol, with a great set, James and Sam dividing the set into two and playing about 15 mins each, J rapping for both of them. Lots of distorted noises and more twisted riffs. Bang-Ra dropped tracks from his Bikini Bandits album and some other stuff, ragga jungle at its best! Every one of these acts is worth seeing if you ever get a chance.
The venue is perfect for this sort of thing, with the huge garden, DJs outside with a massive PA, bomb-fire burning, and an amazing laid back atmosphere, two rooms inside both with huge PA’s, and the bar wasn’t too expensive either.
And I picked up some new 7”s from
dSWAT while I was there too. The Fanny/BeeSnares split (nice packaging) on Death$ucker, Venetian Snares: Badminton, on Addict, and Donna Summer’s Popxplosion, all of them great.
