You might remember a bunch of Russian (I think) scientists satellite tracking a flock of birds migrating from Northern Europe to the UK earlier this year, although without much success. Well, the Australians seem to be much better at it, even if they do seem to have a lot more money behind it. The Ladbrokes Big Bird Race site allows you to track 18 migrating Tasmanian Shy Albatrosses from Tasmania to South Africa. Go to 'Betting Form and Interactive Map' for the impressively slick mapping of the birds' progress. I cannot condone the gambling part though, bet at your own risk.
